I have a question regarding entry

Please email entries@suda.org.uk, or use the contact page.

I cannot come to SUDC 2010 but have already registered – what should I do?

Please send an email as soon as possible to entries@suda.org.uk or use the contact page.

What should I wear?

All shoes must be non-marking and heels on ladies’ shoes must be protected with properly fitted heel protectors.

If you are dancing in Intermediate, Advanced, Ex-Student, Rock ‘n’ Roll, or Team match events then there are no dress restrictions.

Offbeat competitors are not allowed to wear tap shoes, but otherwise dress is unrestricted.

If you are dancing in Novice or Beginners events then non-competitive dress must be worn, as defined in Section 3.16.3 of the SUDA constitution. The rules laid out by the IVDA Standing Committee also apply to Novice and Beginner dancers, as follows:

Excessive adornment classes as any sparks, sequins, diamante, feathers, glitter larger than a 7cm by 7 cm template. (Which will be provided by IVDA to team captains). The adornment is only allowed to be in one place.

For men in Latin, the only practice top that can be worn is a black turtle neck. This means that the DSI shirts that you can buy are not allowed and you will be asked to change if you wear them.

Latin trousers are allowed all day. DJ trousers are also acceptable. Trousers from a tail suit set are prohibited.

Ladies: A scarf is allowed only if worn as a scarf, not as a float. They must have no adornment.

No tailor made dresses, skirts or tops are allowed. Off-the-peg practice wear is allowed but the person wearing it has to be able to prove that is off the peg e.g. web link or brochure.

Fringing: One layer in one section of the garment may be fringed, no longer in length than 10cm. This means one layer of fringing all the way round a dress is allowed as long as the length is not over 10cm.

Ruffles are allowed in as many layers as wished.

No gloves with adornment are allowed. Plain gloves are acceptable. Bracelets may be worn over gloves.
